Arts Culture and Fun Alvin Flythe and Flythetime Concert

Join NYC Parks and the Jazz Foundation of America for a captivating jazz performance featuring Alvin Flythe & Flythetime! A key player in Jamaica's funk scene, with credits on classic sessions alongside Tom Browne and Bernard Wright, Alvin Flythe is one of Queens' finest musicians. His 50-year career has also found his expressive saxophone sound alongside jazz greats like Little Jimmy Scott, Roy Haynes, and his first cousin Duke Ellington. "It's Flythe Time!" This event is FREE and open to the public. Supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
