Herp Happenings at Cunningham Park

Join the Natural Areas Conservancy for a walk led by NYC Parks’ Wildlife and Fisheries Ecologist, Neha Savant, along the trails in the Cunningham Park SE Preserve, where we will learn about Herp Happenings in New York City’s natural areas. Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians and emphasizes the importance of understanding their diverse traits (anatomy, behaviors), systems (bodily functions), and relationships to the environment that contribute to the effective functioning and persistence of these organisms. “Herp” is a word that many like to use as a shorthand for reptiles and amphibians. Come learn about the herps that take refuge in Cunningham Park.
