NYU Game Center Lecture Series Presents Bennett Foddy

Overview Join us for our first Lecture Series event of Spring 2026, featuring Bennett Foddy! Why did I make this? Join us for a career retrospective with Bennett Foddy, as he tries to make sense of a portfolio of games that is often described as ‘frustrating’, ‘punishing’ or even ‘sadistic’. What dark urges drive him to continue exploring the vein of choke-machines, beginner-simulators and brainwashers that define his career? Bennett Foddy is a Brooklyn-based independent game designer who is best-known for his games QWOP, Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and his recent contributions to the 2025 title Baby Steps. From 2013 to 2021 he was a member of full-time faculty at the NYU Game Center.
